Traffic Diversion Program

Would you like to dismiss your minor traffic citation?

  • No fine
  • No court appearance
  • No points off your license

You are eligible if your citation was for:

  • speeding (not more than 19 mph over the speed limit)
  • disregarding traffic signs and signals
  • failure to yeild the right-of-way
  • wrong way, wrong side or improper passing
  • following too closely
  • driving too fast for conditions
  • improper turns, backing or lane changes
  • exhibition of acceleration
  • negligent/careless driving
  • if you have NOT PARTICIPATED IN A TRAFFIC DIVERSION program in the last 3 years

You are ineligible if your citation was for:

  • parking citations
  • CDL, Operator's License Holder
  • participating in a speed competiion
  • if your citation resulted from an injury accident
  • major traffic citations (leaving a scene of an accident, driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, willful reckless or reckless driving)
  • construction and school zones
  • no insurance
  • citations for multiple violations, except for: proof of insurance not in vehicle, not wearing a seatbelt, valid driver's license not on person, or valid registration not in vehicle

Total registration MUST BE COMPLETED WITHIN TEN (10) WORKING DAYS* after the receipt of the citation or you will be ineligible and need to pay the citation.

* Total registration includes having the completed paperwork to the Traffic Diversion Program within the ten (10) working days.

  • Register with one of the following programs:
    Traffic Safety Plus by phone (402) 466-0033 or online at www.trafficsafetyplus.org
    Stop Program by phone (402) 483-2511 or online at at www.nesafetycouncil.org; or
