Prayer Requests
REMEMBER IN YOUR HEARTS AND PRAYERS
Mitch Wambold – cancer; Richard Brandt – cancer; Mike Marquardt – recovering from heart surgery; and all missionaries.
We also remember others who are sick, hospitalized, in nursing homes and the shut-ins.
MISSIONARIES
Please pray for our adopted missionaries in Russia, Brent and Jennie Smith.
PRAY FOR US – CRISP SCHOLARSHIP
CRISP (Committee Responsible for International Scholarship Programs) was established through a $2 million endowment with a grant from the Forward in Remembrance fundraising campaign in the mid-1980’s.
Remember CRISP as you pray with thanksgiving for the seven scholarships that CRISP was able to grant in its first year. The recipients were students from sister churches in Argentina, Brazil, Guatemala, Hong Kong, India, Korea, South Korea, Taiwan, and Venezuela. Lift up these first graduates, many of whom are still in active leadership roles, such as church presidents and seminary presidents.
Pray for every member of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod that the Holy Spirit would set our hearts Ablaze! with the burning desire to personally share Christ with others every day.
PRAY FOR US - ABLAZE! Praise Items
The Holy Spirit is moving Lutherans to speak the Good News to unreached and uncommitted people. Read more Ablaze! Faith-sharing experiences at www.lcms.org/ablaze.
Remember these reasons for Ablaze! celebration as you pray:For the seeds planted when people who have shared the message of Jesus with servers or other service workers while dining out, staying in hotels, or waiting in airports. Many stories on the Ablaze! Web site mention the ample opportunities for faith-sharing that surface when traveling.
PRAY FOR US – SEVEN MISSION RESPONSES
God has chosen to work through us – His baptized children – to share the Good News about Jesus with those who still do not yet call on Him by name. The Seven Mission Responses are learn, pray, give, tell, send, go and celebrate.
Remember the Seven Mission Responses as you pray: for a heart eager to give to God’s mission. By supporting missionaries, mission projects, or mission work in targeted areas, more people may hear the Gospel.
Pray for God to give us daily opportunities to go forth with his Gospel message to our unbelieving friends or as a missionary in another country. Whether on your doorsteps or to the ends of the earth, you carry with you the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Pray that the Lord would use you to send another person by
encouraging someone toward missionary service, writing to missionaries, or helping to meet their needs – these are all examples of “sending” activities.
Pray that more people would celebrate God’s mission together during worship or at mission festivals by remembering all that He has done to bring lost people to Himself.
Pray for every member of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod that the Holy Spirit would set our hearts Ablaze! with the burning desire to personally share Christ with others every day.
PRAY FOR US – NORTH AND SOUTH KOREA
The LCMS began mission work in Korea in 1958. In 1971, the Lutheran Church in Korea (LCK) became an LCMS partner. Today, the LCK is home to more than 5,800 members in about 40 congregations.
Please remember North and South Korea as you pray that pastors and laypeople of the LCK (Lutheran Church in Korea) would continue to be Ablaze! with God's love and that the Holy Spirit would continue to work through them in bringing the Gospel to Korea's unreached and uncommitted people.
Pray for every member of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod that the Holy Spirit would set our hearts Ablaze! with the burning desire to personally share Christ with others every day.
