Mayor Roger GlawatzA MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR
Roger E. Glawatz

Welcome to Seward, Nebraska's and the Nation's Small Town Fourth of July City. A forward-looking community that still recognizes the importance of maintaining strong ties with tradition, Seward fosters a spirit of excellence, cooperation, and harmony in its growth as a business, industrial, educational, health care, and residential center.

Seward is noted for its uniqueness, which can be found in all corners of the community from our historic downtown, to our many churches, to our Concordia University, to our privately funded Youth Center, to our new Aquatic Center - swimming pool. Our new, nearly four million dollar library, which was funded almost entirely by private donations. Our Civic Center is funded entirely by the Langworthy Trust, which also funds a portion of Memorial Health Care Systems. The Seward Foundation, Concordia Foundation, Memorial Health Care Foundation, and Library Foundation are all funded by citizen bequests and donations. We are proud of our community and make every effort to do what we can to keep it strong.

Whether you are a tourist, industrial prospect, family looking to relocate, or a couple hoping to find an excellent place to retire, Seward has something for you. Please take some time to look over our very complete web site. I am certain you will be impressed by what you learn about Seward and our quality of life.
