About Seward County BRIDGES, Inc.
Seward County BRIDGES, Inc. was formed in 1996 by a coalition of citizens, service providers, and concerned individuals to develop a comprehensive community plan to engage and support county wide members. The result was a plan that provides a long-term benefit of a unified and county-wide support system for children and their families to network, connect, and coordinate with community services in Seward County.
The organization, which carries approximately 230 volunteers, works on a variety of tasks - from helping implement mentoring and afterschool clubs, to working with area citizens, and business and education leaders to develop a technology infrastructure plan, which will improve the quality of life in rural Seward County. In between, Seward County BRIDGES also addresses the wide variety of health and social issues facing families today, and responds to the inevitable changes in the way services are funded and delivered.
Seward County BRIDGES connects with citizens by organizing task forces; serving as a county based information center; gathering data and statistics to aid in providing communication to the county; serving as a grant center to coordinate, assist, and administer grants; and networking with businesses, agencies, organizations, and citizens to eliminate duplication of services. BRIDGES, Inc. strives to engage fellow community members to enhance the quality of life for all people in the county.
